Graham has been involved with the retirement industry since 1994 prior to legislation of the industry when he purchased by mortgage sale a partially developed village at Whangaparaoa, Auckland. A decade later, he purchased four additional retirement villages and then sold all five to a listed Australian entity prior to the GFC.
Subsequently he has established six villages in Christchurch, the Bay of Plenty and Auckland all of which are seen as the most upscale villages in New Zealand.
He was elected to the Executive of the NZ Retirement Villages Association in 1997 and have served the last seven as President.
